i prefer
“just nipping out to drop off the kids”
but each to their own!
my best one in recent times is… knob jockey! cos it kind of paints a picture
Jezza talks sense shock, ehh! he is funny, but if you spent any length of time with him you would want to punch him, at some point.
He is a professional tosser, but i think he is getting soft in his old age… For example, its funny how he finally stopped denying global warming (long after george bush junior had left that particular room!), anybody would think he is developing scruples. :laugh_at:
and the bad german accents and constant war references are painful, i notice he didnt do it when Schumacher was on.
My vote goes for James May, because it is vitally important to put away any tools you use in the right bit of the toolbox, or else you can never find anything in a hurry. raaa Hooray for Captain Slow!

A southerner??!! :you_crazy
he aint called rory the legend for nowt, check that shell suit, ha ha! :laugh_at:
when spiral tribe were kicking off with techno down sarf, DiY etc were tearin it up, playin house, further north.
Admittedly, most of the original dj’s are old uns (like me!raaa), but the house mafia is still live n kicking(ish!), in this neck of the woods.
Not that i’m saying all house is great, of course… hmm, have we had this discussion b4? i’m sure we can agree to disagree tho… :bounce_fl
pixiegirl;315050 wrote:I HATE SEOne when its rammed. It is a shit overused venue and since that guy got shot there they are implementing fingerprinting to go outside to smoke and the Clubscan system.SE1 is a bit rubbish, i agree… tho i saw Errol Alkan and 2manydjs there once, and that was class.
DaftFader;315196 wrote:i am suprised cliffy is comming to this party as he is normaly found standing round the edge of a grime “rave” looking shady with his arms crossed:hopeless:really… blimey! i might go and edit me post… :laugh_at:
p0lygon-Window;314291 wrote:dont diss the housewhilst i agree with ya, house is a broad church, and it covers some pretty shit music, (just like all genres!) as well as the decent stuff.
these folks obviously are under-exposed to quality underground house, but thems the breaks… so to speak! 😉
I dont see many towny bints in the woods, so i couldnt comment on Tranzmission really… its a different world down south! :laugh_at:
pixiegirl;314611 wrote:There is always silly bints at raves dressed like they came to the wrong place generally sat around in corners by 2am rubbing their feet.yeah, we are back to dodgy footwear again! 😉
DJCliffy;314931 wrote:Mate tbh with you, a free party is the last thing i’d wanna go to with tranzmission on. Free parties are alrite but they get a bit samey imo but this rave is on once every two years and is going to be a banging night. You can keep your free parties mate, I’d much prefer this over a free party. raaaooh, thats a big statement… :you_crazy :laugh_at:
the best parties i’ve been to have been in the woods, period, and if it aint the same for ya… well, hang around on the board for a few years, and if we like ya, we might tell ya where the proppa parties are! 😉
Are you sure you dont fancy the house room, and are too scared to admit it! :laugh_at:
Yuk, steve wright… he’s been crap for decades :yakk:
chris moyles… nasty, offensive, but occaisonally funny. Saviour of Radio 1, my arse :yakk: Halle Berry had it right, to many dodgy stereotypes.
Whiley… talk about living off past glories, i broke Nirvana, Oasis etc, therefore i get DJ work for the next 20 years. :yakk:
Talent free zone.Whilst i dont like Scott Mills as such, the ‘flirt divert’ thing, and various other bits and pieces he has done are pretty inspired. :laugh_at:
The only daytime dj who knows much about dance music, and the only one i will actually listen to by choice, is Sara Cox. :group_hug Married Leeroy out of the Prodigy, then later Jon Carter, and also caused great merriment by suggestin that the Queen Mum ‘smelt of wee’! :laugh_at: Note to Moyles, you dont have to be a bigot to cause offence…
On the Radio 1 dance music front, Annie Mac’s ok too (tho a bit manufactured), and also Pete Tong deserves credit for havin been there…
anyway, thats my opinion, for wot its worth (not v much!)
happy birfday for yesterday and today, y’all! :group_hug :group_hug
its a fine advert for not takin up boxing really! :laugh_at:
dont try this at home kids…
you know its a pretty good idea tho. If they had GPS you could track em real time, so you knew how long you would have to wait… or even sign up to text alerts when they were getting close! :laugh_at:
It’ll soon be warm again, and when a man needs a 99, he needs a 99…
wings on a boat… like a flying boat? that is radical…:weee:
from the Grauniad…
A car insurer admitted today it refuses to cover musicians despite featuring Iggy Pop in its adverts.
The veteran rocker is the star of swiftcover’s “Get a life. Get swiftcovered” campaign. But although the 61-year-old American is best known for singing hits such as Lust for Life, it has emerged that the online insurance firm has been turning down people who work in the music and entertainment industry for car insurance, citing higher levels of risk and potential claims costs as its reasons.
The Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) said it has launched an investigation after receiving complaints from those deemed ineligible because of their jobs. Tim Soong, who plays bass guitar in Roguetune, told London’s Evening Standard he planned to report swiftcover to the ASA. “The customer services operator told me they don’t insure musicians,” he said. “When I mentioned Iggy Pop, she said his case was different because he is American.”
A spokesman for the ASA said: “We have received 12 complaints and we are formally investigating those complaints. They have challenged whether it is misleading to suggest Iggy Pop has insurance with swiftcover because its website states that those who work in entertainment cannot take out a car insurance policy with that insurer.”
The ASA will publish its adjudication in due course, the spokesman added.Tina Shortle, marketing director of swiftcover.com, said Iggy Pop had been chosen as the face of its advertising “because he loves life, not because he is a musician. He is an actor demonstrating the benefits of swiftcover.com.”
She added: “Insurance premiums are based on a number of different data, including the historic claims costs swiftcover.com has witnessed for specific occupations.
“This means that we do not provide cover to some professions that, according to that data, have a higher level of claims costs. The reason swiftcover.com doesn’t cover people in the ‘entertainment business’ is due to the risk of personal injury.”
Swiftcover’s list of uninsurable occupations also includes gambling, modelling, professional sport, bailiffs and bodyguards.
that is windy! :weee:wot kinda boat? how about a piccy, cos i dont no one end from another…

I remember watchin a programme years ago that said that most hiphop tunes, at the time the programme was shown, used a drum sound off of Bowie’s ‘lets dance’ album.

its a bit of a miracle that an insurance company would use Iggy (surely he is uninsurable! :laugh_at:), and a bit sad that he would take the money…
